LoRaWAN Wireless Communication Features ■ Low Power Consumption: The power consumption varies slightly depending on the end device, but due to its fast transmission and reception speeds, it consumes less power compared to other communication standards, which helps reduce maintenance frequency. Additionally, it consumes so little power that bidirectional communication can be achieved with just one button battery, and it is said that such batteries can last for over 10 years of continuous operation in some cases. ■ Long-Distance Communication: The range of the 800MHz band used by smartphones (3G and later) is said to be about 2 to 5 km, but with LoRaWAN, communication is possible over distances of about 10 km, more than double that. In areas with few obstacles, communication over distances greater than 10 km is possible; however, for practical use in urban areas, it is advisable to estimate a range of about 3 to 5 km, and in indoor environments with obstacles, about 1 km. ■ High Noise Resistance: The 920MHz band used by LoRaWAN is less prone to interference from other wireless networks, even in environments where they exist, which helps minimize communication latency and allows for stable communication. Therefore, it can be safely utilized in factory facilities and indoors.
